We Design What We Build
Informed by purpose and performance,
Inspired by line, light, shadow, and touch.

Form, Fit, and Function
Bill KirchenBorn at the junction of form and function.
We can develop a pleasing form of a cabinet and table from drawing, with pencil or computer. But a comfortable chair must express a human form in negative that cannot be accurately imagined on paper or screen. We find that form by testing with an adjustable contraption--many people sit and we adjust to find points and planes and means. We then design to fit.
Comfort, Utility, Longevity
Frank Lloyd WrightComfort and utility may go hand and hand with beauty.
We do not compromise comfort, utility, or longevity
for statement, style, fashion, or ease of making.
Refined to Essence
Willa CatherThe higher processes of art are all of simplification.
Every design refined.
Our rocking chair expresses the human form in negative, without affectation.

Because our designs are clean, there is no place to hide less than impeccable workmanship.
Craftsmanship is integral to design.
Procedure, Practice, Precision
Dieter RamOnly well-executed objects can be beautiful.
We have developed our own set of techniques and elements.
Some are innovations to traditions,
some are adaptations,
some are adoptions,
and some are born anew.
