Hi Gary, I thought you'd like to know that our beautiful chairs arrived this morning. Those delivery guys are real go-getters! They got themselves on the 5:45 AM ferry and were here and unloaded by 7:00. Good thing we're early risers. The chairs are perfect, and I know that they will be enjoyed, not only by us, but by the next generations. It was a real pleasure doing business with you, and to feel the personal connection that will enrich our ownership of the pieces as the years go by. Many thanks.

R. is going to send you a picture of the chair in our home — she's in love with it.

I wanted to say something about the shipping. The shipping company, Saia?, was not very professional: they didn't come the day they said they would and then came the next day, in spite of the fact that I had called them and told them we wouldn't be home. Luckily, they came quite late in the day, so we were home, but the driver hadn't used any of the usual mapping resources to find out where our house is and didn't call us for directions until he was on the way. He was driving a huge 18-wheeler and was afraid to come into our lake community and deliver to the house. Luckily, again, a friend with a truck was available to take it from the truck to our house.

[ Unknown to us, our dependable carrier, DBSchenker, handed the chair off to a third party for this rural shipment. We regret the inconvenience. —GW ]

That said, the chair arrived in perfect condition, thanks to your impeccable packing, and it is beautiful and beautifully comfortable.

R. will rave on her own.
